You can just show up! There is no need to make a reservation or to call beforehand. We have space for you, and we often have people just show up.However, you might feel more comfortable if you talked with us before arriving. Even if you don’t talk with us before coming, you are welcome here.

You will see all types of dress at Alive in Christ – jeans and hoodies as well as dresses and suits.

Children worship with families but are called up after the Nicene Creed for a Children's Message. We have a box that a child takes home and puts three items in that the Pastor does not see until the Children's message start. The Pastor has to tie the three items to into his sermon. The children try to stump him every week. Pastor is, so far, undefeated.

Worship consists of readings from our holy book called the Bible, an explanation of those readings (sermon), prayers, and singing. At most of our worship services, the congregation confesses its wrongdoings (sin) and receives forgiveness. We also observe a small, ritual meal called Holy Communion at most of our services. At some of our worship services, an individual may receive a ritual application of water called Holy Baptism. Our worship services follow an ancient and set pattern. We often call this the “Liturgy". You will find that our worship services are reverent. We believe that God comes to us at worship – that’s a holy thing, so we treat it that way.Even though our worship services are reverent, you will find that they are also not “stuffy” or irrelevant. Worship is heartfelt and can even be surprising. Worship services are led by either a live band or pre-recorded music.

What does it Mean? In the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper we receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus in, with, and under the consecrated elements of bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus said: "this is My Body...this is My Blood...for the forgiveness of sins." St. Matthew 26:26-27

Real Presence: The LCMS believes in the "real presence" of Christ in the bread and wine, meaning that Christ's body and blood are truly present in the elements, not just symbolically.  

Sacramental Union: The LCMS uses the term "Sacramental Union" to describe the belief that the bread and wine are Christ's body and blood, given orally together with bread and wine, for the forgiveness of sins.  

Means of Grace: Holy Communion is viewed as a means of grace, where God's forgiveness and spiritual nourishment are received through the words and actions of the sacrament.  

Corporate Nature: The LCMS emphasizes the corporate nature of Holy Communion, meaning that it is a shared meal within the Christian community, not a private act.  
Preparation: The LCMS encourages individuals to examine themselves before receiving communion, ensuring they approach the sacrament with a sincere heart and faith.  

Admission: The LCMS typically offers communion to those who are confirmed members in good standing of LCMS congregations and those church bodies in full pulpit and altar fellowship, with the possibility of exceptions in extraordinary cases.

If you are here for a worship service, bulletins are available at the cafeteria entrance, and you can find a seat in wherever you like. Our pastor will also often greet you before the service. Our worship services are about an hour long. You will find them to be reverent but also relevant to our greatest struggles.
